Chateau Puyblanquet Bordeaux 2021

Château Puyblanquet 2021 — Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, Bordeaux

Château Puyblanquet 2021 is an elegant, classically styled Right Bank Bordeaux from Saint-Émilion, emphasizing finesse, freshness and balance rather than sheer power.

The wine offers aromas of ripe red cherry, blackcurrant and plum, complemented by notes of violet, cedar, tobacco and subtle baking spice. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, with refined tannins, lively acidity and a well-defined core of red and dark fruit. Hints of mineral earthiness and gentle oak lead into a polished, persistent finish.

The cooler 2021 Bordeaux vintage gives this wine a particularly traditional character, with freshness and structure that make it an excellent partner for food.

The estate has a particularly interesting history. Originally owned by the Malet-Roquefort family, Château Puyblanquet was sold in 1959 and reacquired by the family in 2020, reuniting it with the owners of prestigious Château La Gaffelière. Its 19 hectares of limestone and clay-limestone vineyards are managed with the same attention to detail, and the wines are vinified by the La Gaffelière team.
