Russell’s Reserve 13 Year Old Bourbon is a sophisticated, long-aged expression from the legendary Wild Turkey lineup, crafted under the guidance of Master Distiller Freddie Johnson and the Russell family legacy. With over a decade of patient maturation, this release delivers a richly developed profile that showcases depth, complexity, and refined oak influence while retaining Wild Turkey’s signature balance of sweetness and spice.
On the nose, it opens with deep aromas of caramelized sugar, dried fruit, vanilla bean, and toasted oak, followed by hints of orange zest and warm baking spice. The palate is full-bodied and layered, offering flavors of dark toffee, cinnamon, brown sugar, charred oak, and a subtle citrus brightness, all wrapped in a creamy texture that speaks to long, thoughtful aging.
The finish is long, warming, and elegantly spiced, with lingering notes of oak, peppercorn, and vanilla.
Cask Program:
This bourbon is matured in new, charred American oak barrels with a classic heavy char (alligator)—a hallmark of Wild Turkey’s cask approach. It is aged exclusively in these barrels for a minimum of 13 years with no secondary finishing, allowing extended barrel interaction to develop rich oak influence, deep caramel and spice notes, and an integrated, mature profile shaped by Kentucky’s seasonal temperature swings.
