Chateau Lagrange Saint-Julien Grand Cru Medoc 2021

2021 Vintage, St. Julien Appellation, Medoc

Certified Kosher, Not Mevushal

750 ML, 13% ABV

CHATEAU LAGRANGE, Classified Growth since 1855. The property is located in the west of the Saint-Julien appellation right in the heart of the Médoc vineyards.  During the blend tastings of our two Appellation Saint-Julien red wines, we select the Grand Vin “ Château Lagrange ”, usually produced from the older vines (around 35 years old).  It's a very limited production over all and obviously, a much smaller kosher production.

Château Lagrange Saint-Julien Grand Cru Classé 2021 is an elegant and expressive Bordeaux from one of Saint-Julien’s most respected estates. Hailing from deep gravel soils and benefitting from meticulous viticulture, this vintage showcases precision, balance, and classic Médoc structure, making it an excellent choice for collectors and wine lovers seeking refined Bordeaux with age-worthy potential.

On the nose, expect lifted aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, and dark cherry, framed by hints of dried herbs, cedar, and subtle floral notes. The palate is medium-to-full in body, with vibrant fruit flavors woven together with fine tannins and bright acidity, delivering layers of plum, cassis, graphite, and a touch of tobacco. The texture is refined and poised, leading to a long, expressive finish that echoes mineral and spice nuances.

Bottled at 13% ABV, this 2021 Saint-Julien offers immediate appeal while promising graceful evolution with cellaring over the next decade and beyond.

Winemaking & Terroir:
Château Lagrange’s vineyards are planted in classic Saint-Julien gravel and limestone soils that promote excellent drainage and concentrated fruit expression. After hand harvesting, the wine undergoes traditional fermentation and élevage in a combination of French oak barrels, with a portion of new oak used to lend structure and spice while preserving varietal purity and freshness. This thoughtful oak integration supports the wine’s balance, allowing the vibrant fruit core and refined tannins to shine.
