Chevalier de Lascombes Margaux 2022 is a refined and expressive Bordeaux from the distinguished Margaux appellation, offering classic Médoc elegance with silky texture and nuanced complexity. As the second wine of Château Lascombes, it captures the signature balance of ripe fruit, floral aromatics, and refined structure that Margaux is celebrated for, making it an excellent choice for both near-term enjoyment and moderate cellaring.
On the nose, this wine opens with inviting aromas of red and black currants, wild raspberry, and plum, accented by delicate floral notes of violet and subtle hints of cedar and spice. The palate is medium-bodied and harmonious, with flavors of juicy berries, savory herb, and polished tannins that provide gentle grip without overpowering the vibrant fruit core. Layers of red fruit and fine mineral tension lead to a long, elegant finish with lingering notes of berry and soft oak.
Bottled at 13.5% ABV, Chevalier de Lascombes 2022 offers both approachability and depth, making it a versatile pairing for grilled meats, roasted poultry, or rich, tomato-based dishes.
Winemaking & Terroir:
Sourced from vineyards planted on classic Margaux gravel and clay-limestone soils, Chevalier de Lascombes benefits from excellent drainage and optimal sun exposure, which concentrate fruit flavors and maintain freshness. After hand harvesting and careful sorting, fermentation occurs in temperature-controlled stainless steel and concrete vats, followed by élevage in French oak barrels (with a portion of new oak) to enhance structure and integrate subtle spice and texture. The oak influence is balanced and supportive, allowing the fruit’s purity and the wine’s refined Margaux character to take center stage.
