With their latest limited edition release finished in Château De Laubade Armagnac barrels, Bardstown Bourbon company once again flexes their blending skills.
As seasoned whiskey lovers continue to explore their love for spirits, Armagnac has had a lot of focus put on it over the last few years. Armagnac is a type of French brandy produced in the Armagnac region in Gascony, southwest France. Often people are attracted to it for its ability to taste like well aged whiskey. As I’ve continued to explore the spirit category more in-depth, I was excited to see Bardstown once again use Château De Laubade Armagnac barrels for their latest limited release. In their press release, Bardstown states that the 2022 Château de Laubade Armagnac release includes a blend of 12-year-old Kentucky and 10-year-old Tennessee bourbon, finished in Laubade Armagnac casks for 16 months. Their first release featured a 12-year-old Indiana bourbon finished in Armagnac barrels for 18 months.
