Blackened Rye is a whiskey produced by Blackened American Whiskey, a brand that was developed in collaboration with the late musician and Metallica co-founder, Dave Mustaine. 

Blackened Rye is a unique blend of rye whiskeys sourced from various distilleries. The whiskey is then finished using a proprietary sonic aging process called "Black Noise." During this process, the whiskey barrels are exposed to a playlist of Metallica songs, which are said to enhance the interaction between the whiskey and the wood, accelerating the aging and flavor development.

This rye whiskey offers a rich and complex flavor profile. It typically showcases notes of caramel, vanilla, toasted oak, and baking spices. The sonic aging process is believed to contribute to a unique character, adding depth and intensity to the whiskey's flavors.
