Chateau Olivier is in contention for one of the oldest properties in Bordeaux. Bordeaux winehistorians believe the estate dates back as far as the11th century. Some ancient remnants of the originalbuildings can be seen close to the east pavilion onthe lower portions of the property.
With a fair bit of swirling, Olivier's Blancleaps from the glass with energetic notes of fresh grapefruit, ripe pears and pineapple, plus hints of lime blossoms and dill seedwith a waft of wet pebbles. The medium-bodied palate is elegantly styled with intense citrus and tropical fruit flavors, marked by a racy backbone, finishing refreshingly steely.
Straw yellow with green notes. In the nose gooseberries, tomato stem, summer elderflowers and pleasant, discrete oak aromas. On the palate fresh, green apples, lemon cest, lime, gooseberries, green pineapple, honey and green pebber Bell. Medium body, medium plus acidity, dry, and a long pleasant aftertaste, all in a fine balance.
