Located in Versailles, Kentucky, Woodford Reserve is the official bourbon of the Kentucky Derby. In 2015, the distillery released a special commemorative bottle of bourbon to honor Secretariat, one of the most famous racehorses in history and a triple crown winner. The Woodford Reserve Kentucky Derby Secretariat bottle features a portrait of the legendary horse and his jockey, Ron Turcotte, on the label, as well as the iconic Twin Spires of Churchill Downs, the home of the Kentucky Derby.
The bourbon inside the bottle is a special blend of Woodford Reserve's signature bourbon, which has been aged for a minimum of 16 years in new charred oak barrels. The bourbon is said to have notes of dark chocolate, espresso, and dark caramel, as well as a hint of clove and cinnamon.
