For the milestone tenth chapter of the Little Book series, Freddie Noe revisits the concept behind the acclaimed Chapter 3 ("The Road Home"), but with older stocks and an additional finished whiskey component. The blend includes:
Like every Little Book release, it is bottled uncut and unfiltered, allowing the whiskey's full texture and intensity to shine.
Color: Deep auburn with rich copper highlights.
Nose:
Layers of raisin, fig, dates, dark caramel, molasses, brown sugar, leather, toasted oak, cinnamon, vanilla, and baking spices. The sherry influence contributes elegant dried fruit without overwhelming the classic Beam profile.
Palate:
Rich and full-bodied with caramel, toffee, vanilla bean, honey, seasoned oak, rye spice, tobacco, dark fruit, cinnamon, and subtle toasted barrel sweetness. The sherry-finished component adds depth and complexity rather than overt wine character.
Finish:
Exceptionally long, warming, and layered. Dried figs, raisins, dark chocolate, black pepper, baking spices, seasoned oak, and lingering caramel gradually fade into a dry, mature oak finish.
Chapter 10 is one of the most complete Little Book releases to date. Rather than showcasing an experimental mashbill, Freddie Noe assembled some of the finest mature bourbons in the Beam portfolio and enhanced them with a carefully judged sherry-and-toasted-cask component. The result is a whiskey that remains unmistakably Beam—nutty, rich, and oak-driven—while adding remarkable elegance and dried-fruit complexity.
For fans of previous Little Book releases, this edition feels like a mature evolution of Chapter 3, delivering greater age, better integration, and impressive balance despite its barrel-proof strength. Early reviews have placed it among the finest entries in the series.
As the tenth annual chapter in Freddie Noe's experimental Little Book series, "All the Wiser" is expected to be one of the most sought-after releases yet. Production is limited, allocations are relatively small, and demand from both collectors and Beam enthusiasts is expected to exceed supply. While certainly collectible, it is also a bottle that rewards opening—revealing new aromas and flavors with time in the glass and even more after several weeks of air exposure.
