Diane Stuart, The Macallan Whisky Maker, and Joan Roca of the award-winning Roca brothers, owners of El Celler de Can Roca, twice named Best Restaurant in the World, embarked on a journey to Mexico City during the Day of the Dead festival. This celebration is an annual holiday, where people come together to commemorate loved ones who are no longer with us.
Their immersion into the vibrant celebration and local traditions served as the source of inspiration for their whisky making and gastronomic creations.
In their quest to distil the essence of Mexico, they spent time with people who encapsulate the traditions, craftsmanship and artistic nature of the Day of the Dead festival. This masterful collaboration between two experts in their field has resulted in a whisky that artfully bottles the vibrancy of this cultural celebration.
