Wild Turkey Austin Nichols Archives Gold Foil Edition 16 Year Bourbon marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for one of Kentucky's most revered distilleries. Created by Associate Master Blender Bruce Russell, the inaugural release in the Austin Nichols Archives Collection pays tribute to the legendary "Cheesy Gold Foil" Wild Turkey bottlings of the 1980s and 1990s—highly coveted expressions that helped cement Wild Turkey's reputation among bourbon enthusiasts. Rather than recreating the original, Bruce has crafted a thoroughly modern expression that captures the bold, mature character and unmistakable Wild Turkey profile that made those bottles iconic. The new Archives Collection succeeds the acclaimed Master's Keep series and is intended to celebrate the most historic releases in the distillery's long history.

On the nose, expect powerful aromas of mature oak, dried dark fruit, cinnamon, nutmeg, toasted walnuts, leather, and the signature earthy "Wild Turkey funk" that only extended aging can produce. The palate is rich and layered with cherry cola, dark caramel, clove, cocoa, tobacco leaf, burnt brown sugar, baking spices, and deep oak, all delivered with remarkable concentration despite its robust proof. The finish is exceptionally long, warming, and complex, revealing peppery spice, leather, oak tannins, dark honey, and lingering caramel sweetness.

Cask Program

Gold Foil Edition was produced from approximately 500 carefully selected barrels, primarily aged 16–17 years in Wild Turkey's renowned Camp Nelson rickhouses (D, E, and F). These warehouses are prized for their airflow and seasonal temperature variation, producing bourbons of exceptional richness and maturity. The whiskey is non-chill filtered and bottled at 120 proof, preserving its full texture and depth while showcasing Bruce Russell's vision for the next generation of premium Wild Turkey releases.
